The Art of Carding: A Detailed Look Into Scammer Strategy To Steal Your Money - Part 1/3

"Curious to know, how one can steal your hard-earned money from under your nose?"
You are at the right place, I will share you all behind the scenes of this process.

Few things to know before we get started with the main part of the blog. Let's all understand about the bad guy who is focused to rip your bank balance. Here we are dealing with a scammer.

"A scammer is a person who commits fraud or participates in a dishonest scheme."

In this blog, I will explain how a "scammer" can rip your bank balance in a matter of moments with a scam called carding.

Let's begin with the question, "What is carding?".

In short, Carding is the act of obtaining someone's credit card information, from the CC#, CVV, CVV2, CVN, and the billing address, along with the expiry date and name of the person the card belongs to along with a signature.

So by summing up, we can say that the scammer requires the above information to rip your bank balance.
In general, scammer gathers the required information online. We call it "Online Carding".

Let's know more about Online Carding.

Online carding is the process of purchasing goods and services over the internet with the CVV2.

Wondering what a CVV2 is, it's the database of basic information for the card such as the First and last name, card type (e.g. Mastercard), postcode, address and , phone number of the card owner, the actual CC number and the CVC (card verification code, the expiry date (and start date if it's a debit card or prepaid CC) which are the 3 digits on the back of the card).

This is the format you usually get them in when scammers buy off IRC or Darknet:

VISA | Mr Arun Kumar | 1023456789012345 | 09|10 | 01/19 | 123 | 123 king street, bigville | Fake City | DE24 TRH | 01234-567890

Before we go further into the topic I want to let you know that I will cover the basics of most carding knowledge. Going into absolutely everything would mean having to go onto ID theft and fake IDs which can be classed as 2 different categories of their own. I will not be covering all the topics in the same blog so I decided to create the blog in a series. This is what I'm going to cover in upcoming blog series:

  • Online Carding
  • Carding while on the job
  • Trashing
  • Carding Instore
  • Carding over the phone
  • IRC
  • Phishing for Change of billing
  • Drops and what you need to know about them

So a lot to know and a lot to discuss. Follow the blog to receive all the latest updates.

EDITED: And thank a lot to "Mr. Anonymous" for your cooperation and sharing your knowledge in the subject with me during the interview.
